A lifetime of listening to Gary Burbank has, at the very least, given me the title to a blog post.
The fallout from the latest -- well, the next to the latest -- treason from the New York Times continues.
(What do I mean by "the next to the latest"? Now the Times is disclosing confidential troop levels.
Michael Ledeen (via Powerline) justifiably rips them at the Corner. Meanwhile, Heather McDonald (via Wizbang) gives the Times a broadside worthy of the Yamato. Michelle Malkin's readers have put together a collection of anti-Times posters. There simply is no defending the Times' conduct here.
But while the broadsides of the Yamato could be devastating, the true surface weapon of the Imperial Japanese Navy was the Type 93 torpedo, commonly referred to as the "long lance." Ace of Spades fires the long lance here:
The left continues to undermine national security in the most despicable, cynical way. I'm quite sure the reasonable liberals at the NYT and WaPo know full well that programs like this are absolutely vital, and their secrecy is likewise vital. However, they have made the most anti-American and evil sort of decision: While tools like this are vital for saving American lives, they will not permit any Republican President to use them. Only Democratic Presidents are permitted to employ the full panoply of powers for protecting American lives. We can only hope that this torpedo is off the mark, but I suspect that it is not.
It's blackmail, pure and simple. Either let a Democrat into the White House, or we will continue to sabotage American security and, in effect, kill Americans. We will keep secrets when a Democrat is in office, but not a Republican. So we offer the American people a choice: Let the politicians we favor run the country, or we will help Al Qaeda murder you.
