One step forward, two steps back

W made a statement today on the treatment of detainees captured in the war on Islamofascism. He acknowledged that there were secret CIA priosons in other countries where these prisoners were probably tortured, which I don't like because we should be torturing them right here at home, providing jobs for Americans. Anyway, Michelle Malkin has analysis, Real Clear Politics has a succinct piece for those with ADD like me, and Powerline goes into how John McCain, as usual, can screw it up.

Gwenerally, it's good news. But there is extremely bad news out of Pakistan, where Pervez Musharraf has basically surrendered to the Taliban and al Qaida forces in the northwest border area of Waziristan. Bill Roggio has the grim analysis and Rick Moran has a good follow up. Basically, we're screwed, and so is Hamid Karzai in Afghanistan, as Musharraf has allowed the recreation of a mini-Afghanistan safe haven for al Qaida in Waziristan.

I think we may need to go Roman on these people.
