Latest addition to my book rotation

Battle of Surigao Strait by Anthony P. Tully. Tully is a frequent contributor to the Imperial Japanese Navy history site CombinedFleet.com and is co-author of Shattered Sword: The Untold Story of the Battle of Midway with CombinedFleet.com editor Jonathan Parshall.

Just as Shattered Sword has rapidly become the bible of the Battle of Midway, I expect Surigao Strait to become the bible of the Battle of Surigao Strait, which is one of the four or five separate naval actions that comprise the Battle of Leyte Gulf, none of which, truth be told, took place in Leyte Gulf. Tully has uncovered new evidence that has led to several new deductions about the course of the battle. Very well-written and convincing in its presentation of evidence. I highly recommend it.
